Halo’s Neighborhood

After recently watching Wristcutters: A Love Story (just watch it, it has Tom Waits in it!) I have been wanting to get my hair cut like Mikal. I am not sure if i should though, because to be honest I don't have bone structure like Shannyn Sossamon, so I don't know that I could pull it off. Can't stop thinking about doing it though!

Yesterday was the summer solstice for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere. How did you celebrate the arrival of summer and the longest day of the year?

i hid inside my house running outside only to get my mail. It was 109 degrees yesterday and even with the air on full blast in my house it only managed to get down to 80. Not supposed to get this hot until August! It is going to be a long hot summer. not really looking forward to it!

Things have been busy and i have been really stressed out, but I am still alive guys! 

My paternal Grandmother had a mild stroke on Friday night and a few hours later at the hospital she was yelling "You damn kids go home and get some sleep." as if nothing had happened. Fully alert, moving the leg she hadn't been able to move (which prompted the rush to the hospital) and as is her nature... giving the hospital staff a hard time. She's only been sick a handful of times in her entire life. She's 95 years old now.. and I'm beginning to suspect... immortal. I love her to death.

Did anybody else catch Scanners on IFC last night? I had not seen it since I was ten or so and I forgot what amazing cheesy horror goodness it was! I did not remember that much about the movie itself, but remembered trying to use my mind powers by making funny faces as a kid. The explosions and small bits of gore were great and the veiny firey ending was awesome! In case you have not seen it in a while or just don't mind a spoiler here is the famous head pop scene...

If you're getting one, how are you planning on spending your tax refund?

i owed $570 and now I can't buy any food for a while! ack!
